Is your Virteom powered website utilizing the Masonry Photo Module? Adding new photos to your gallery is really simple and even allows you to upload multiple images at one time. The one real advantage of using the masonry module is so that you can display images in groupings or categories on a singular webpage. This allows you to separate images out into different galleries so like photos can appear together.
For example: Say you're a landscaper and you have a webpage entitled "Hardscapes". You may want to output multiple galleries on this single page to break out each type of hardscape you've done: walkways, patios, pergolas, steps, fire pits, etc. The masonry photo module allows you to accomplish this. You can set multiple categories, and multiple galleries in that one category - all to output on one single webpage.
In this how-to article, we explain how to add a new category, add a new gallery, edit an existing category, edit an existing gallery (adding images to an existing gallery), and how to delete categories, galleries, and images in the Masonry Photos module powered by RocketSites.

First things first, you must log-in to your Virteom powered website. You can do this by visiting your website and adding /virteom at the end. This will take you to the log-in screen for the site.

Websites make it easy to get your business information out to the online community, but after building websites for 20+ years, we've learned that sometimes you don't want every page on your website accessible to the general public. Which is why RocketSites offers the ability to create private pages that are only accessible to a designated person/company.
Why would you want to use private webpages? Private webpages are used for a number of reasons. Our clients have used private pages for promotions in email campaigns, as a document center, for quote calculators, you name it. Private pages really come in handy! Private pages also allow you to essentially have a draft of the webpage you're creating without it being accessible to the general public.
Whatever the use case, Virteom Rocketsites makes it easy to mark a page as 'private' and set permissions for the users you want to have access. In this how-to guide, we'll explain how to create a new page, mark it as private, create a new member, and give access to the user.

Don't you hate it when you are waiting on an email from someone, and it never seems to come through, then days later you realize it was in your junk or spam folder the whole time? This is a common occurrence, especially these days with all of the unnecessary spam we get. That why you should whitelist email addresses that you know are from senders who have valuable information for you or contacts that you use frequently!
What Does it Mean to Whitelist an Email?
Whitelisting an email address is essentially just a list of approved senders so that you don't lose anything important to the junk folder. This practice is best for people who are signed up for any email subscriptions.
How to Whitelist Emails:
Whitelisting is an easy one-time process that allows you to never miss an email again. Though the process varies slightly based on the email platform, you use. Below are instructions on how to whitelist emails across the major email systems.
Android Mail
AOL Mail
Apple Mail (OS X and iOS devices)
Gmail (web and mobile)
Outlook.com
Outlook 20XX
Windows Live Desktop
Yahoo! Mail
Android Mail:
If you are using an android device, open an email from the sender you wish to whitelist, click their icon/picture, and then click "Add to Contacts."
AOL Mail:
If you use AOL, you will go to a message from the sender, in the preview you can highlight the sender's email address and a drop-down menu will appear. You then select

WordPress is a publishing platform for managing your digital presence and establishing your brand. Even if there are no built-in options, themes, or features that you want or need, there are thousands of third-party plugins and web apps that can be integrated seamlessly. According to W3techs, WordPress has 58.8% of the CMS marketshare. However, what most site admins discover as they develop and expand their WordPress powered site, every plugin you install requires a steady stream of updates to keep all features working properly. Essentially, the maintenance is a nightmare.
Developers update, upgrade, add-on and change plugins on what feels like a daily basis. If you don't have the technical knowledge to read through the plugin updates or version notes, you may be upgrading to a plugin that is not compatible with the version of WordPress you're running. And even if you have the technical knowledge, you may find that an update to one plugin has completely messed up the functionality of another plugin. Some updates can really cause a trickle-down effect into the other plugins your website uses. When developers update their plugins, they're not always conscious of how their updates will work with other plugins — and how do you expect them to? Each plugin has it's own team of developers behind them.
DEVELOPERS ARE NO LONGER PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR PLUGINS

Adding and deleting pages that exist within your website is easy with Virteom CMS - just check it out here. But what if you want a link to go out to a different website? Or to a PDF? That's a little bit less intuitive.
In this how-to article, we'll go over how to link to external web pages in your navigation and how to link to documents.
How to link to an external website
First things first, you'll need to login to the back-end of your website. This is simply your domain URL with /virteom tagged on the end.
(For example, ours is virteom.com) and then you enter /virteom after. To login to the back-end of our website, we'd type virteom.com/virteom.)
On this screen, you'll enter your username and password
Once you're logged in, click 'Site Pages' (if you're on Rocketsites) or 'Navigation' (if you're running Virteom CMS 8 and under)
Once you're on the 'Site Pages' you'll see your entire website structure. To add an external link to your navigation, locate the 'Main' section and click the '+' next to it.
A new window will popup and ask whether you're creating a New Page (Content), Directory, or a Link. Since you're linking out to an external website, click the 'Link' button.
Once you click the 'Link' radio button, you will be able to enter the page name and paste in the external URL.

If you have ever wondered why your website looks different in different browsers, you don’t have to worry that you’re going crazy. There is a legitimate reason why your website may look off in different browsers, like Internet Explorer. Read on to learn why this happens.
Why Does my Website Look Different in internet explorer?
Websites are made up of a set of instructions spoken in a web code language, most often HTML or CSS. Often, different browsers interpret code languages differently, which results in different interpretations. Here are some ways this issue affects your website:
Browser Default Settings:
When a browser reads the code behind your website, it translates the information in the default settings. For instance, Safari and Chrome have different default fonts, which means the font on your site changes when viewed in these browsers. For example, Safari defaults to the Helvetica family and Microsoft's Internet Explorer defaults to the Arial font family.
Default issues are likely the most common reason for variance between browsers. The look and feel of a site may change, but functionality and the user experience remain intact.
Code Changes
Web code is constantly evolving and browsers may lag behind when making any necessary changes. An older version of a browser may not support the latest standards. So, a modern website may speak a language that is not fully understood by the browser.
For example,

Category: Clear Cache
If you have owned a computer for any length of time you likely have experienced the dread of internet slow down. If it gets bad enough that you need to reach out for technical support one of the first things that they will tell you to try is to clear your browser cache. But what does clearing your cache even do? Why does it help?
What is Your Browser Cache?
Your cache is the name for a portion of your hard drive that is dedicated to storing browser files that your browser determines it may need to use again. Web pages are packed with information, and this information is stored in dozens, hundreds and sometimes thousands of files for just one site. Your browser will cache portions of the page for you so in future visits load times are quicker, improving your overall internet experience.
Why Should I Clear my Cache?
Your browser will store things like files, CSS styles, JavaScript scripts, images, and other multimedia content. That is why when you’re working with a web development firm and request updates like font changes (color/size) we request you clear your cache frequently to see these changes in real-time.
When changes are made to your website like updating a logo, changing a picture, increasing font or changing colors, you may run into trouble with your browser's cache. Occasionally your browser will load your cached info instead of updated portions of the page that you are desiring to view. This can result in a slow down, image errors or not seeing

Category: How To, Image Resize
Is your website powered by Virteom CMS? Do your images look good on your laptop but not on your 4k monitor? Are your pictures a good size on desktop but become oversized or deformed on a mobile device? More than likely you’re using pixels to set the dimensions of your photos, but is that the best way? This article will explain how you should be sizing the images on your Virteom powered website so that they look good across all devices.
As you make edits and additions to the pages of your website you find yourself adding images to support your content. Typically, the size of your image is too large for your page and with the popup picture below you set dimensions of your image using pixels:
Setting your images dimensions using pixels is what makes your image stretch on your cell phone or from one screen to another. You don’t want to use pixels to set the dimensions of your images.
For example: Here we have a picture of a tablet:
Once we add it into the image uploader we see the width and height of this image is 1000px by 667px. If we kept it that size, it would be very large on the page and it would take up a lot of space. If it was viewed on a mobile device, it would appear stretched out and require you to scroll left and right. Take a look:
Your first instincts may be to resize the image using the width and height that are in the image properties. If we resize the image to 600px by 400px and preview the page you’ll see in the browser it lo
